Future Possibilities and Speculations about IPT
by Chris Duffield

Sports, like war, expeditions, and space exploration, are human life at its limits.  Many of the same possible applications of IPT for emergency, battlefield, and expedition & space medicine apply here.

IPT might be useful for treating trauma and shock from acute injuries, and for rapid treatment of dehydration.

IPT could be useful for faster healing of superficial and deep injuries of skin, muscle & bone, joints, internal organs, and the central nervous system.  The Huggins article suggests using direct injection of insulin for this, but IPT could have deeper and even more beneficial effects.

Periodic IPT treatments may even turn out to be a way to enhance the absorption of nutrients to speed the growth of muscle and connective tissues, for faster and more effective training.
(This might work for race horses, and other sporting animals, too.)
