A very high priority should be put on bringing  Donato Perez Garcia MD 3, and his family, officially and permanently to the United States.  His IPT skills and knowledge are priceless, unique, and irreplaceable, and can be put to best use here.

Including the experience of his father and grandfather, Dr. Perez Garcia 3 represents more than a century of cumulative IPT experience, more than 85 percent of the total doctor-years of IPT practice.  Dr. Perez Garcia 3 has the energy and motivation to set up a large IPT clinical training program.   It is now too late for Dr. Perez Garcia y Bellon 2's IPT knowledge and experience to be passed on to other doctors directly, but Dr. Perez Garcia 3 carries more of it than anyone else.

A faculty position for Dr. Perez Garcia 3 at a teaching hospital is clearly called for.  Such  a position would enable him to work with medical students and other doctors, to treat many patients in the US, and to be a consultant for the many medical and pharmacological researchers and entrepreneurs who will become interested in IPT and its spin-offs.  He can help ensure that IPT treatment programs and protocols are well designed, and can help define the IPT research agenda.  Wherever he is, that is where the core of a large IPT-focused biomedical industry could form.

An ideal situation would be for Dr. Perez Garcia to work in the San Francisco Bay Area, at Stanford University Medical Center, UCSF, or both.  Although there may soon be fierce competition for him elsewhere in the US and in Europe, this region would be his first choice.  The Bay Area is one of the greatest concentrations of intellectual, financial, and industrial resources, and would be a perfect incubator for the world of IPT.
